This year, D-Wave in Motion had the honor of partnering with 12 schools across NYC – from the Bronx, to the Upper East Side, Queens and Brooklyn. The month of June wrapped up residency’s in six different schools culminating in wildly successful final performances! D-Wave is so grateful to all our in school partners and dedicated Teaching Artists.

D-Wave in Motion is an outreach program offered by Dancewave that began in 2003 and has since reached more than 25 schools throughout New York City. We have touched the lives of 700 students directly through dance programs and an additional 800-900 young people through in-school performances. At Dancewave, we understand that each borough, school, grade and student is unique which is why the program creates dance residency’s specifically based on the needs of the individual school rather than imposing a general dance curriculum. Our residencies encompass a variety of dance genres and ethnic forms including Salsa, Hip Hop, Broadway, Creative Movement, Chinese Dance, Ballet, Modern and Rumba, plus an ever expanding roster of Teaching Artist’s working professionally in New York City.
